Offshore Wind Market Analyst (Graduate Internship)

The Project

4C Offshore would like to recruit a graduate intern to assist their research team with the preparation of consulting reports. This will involve a “deep dive” into a specific subject relating to offshore wind or subsea power interconnection.

Example projects could include: identifying the best future opportunities for a client; quantifying the amount of demand for a specific product or service; analysis of supply side segmentation and the competitive set; costs of offshore wind.

You will prepare a report of a very high professional quality which answers the customer’s questions with precision and clarity.

Specific tasks will include:

Primary Market research:
  • Contacting companies to elicit information
  • Internet research
  • Engaging with people via phone and email
Secondary Market Research:
  • Reviewing third party research
  • Reviewing 4C research
Market Analysis:
  • Numerical analysis
  • Report writing

4C Offshore are looking for the following skills and qualities:

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Good command of English language and the ability to write engagingly
  • Numerical skills
  • Ability to work with Excel to analyse data and produce appropriate charts
  • Experience of descriptive statistics and predictive statistics
  • Familiar with Microsoft Word
  • Knowledge of offshore renewable energy technologies and their project lifecycle
  • Understanding of elementary economic principles e.g. competitive forces
  • Knowledge of energy policy


This is the perfect opportunity to develop a detailed knowledge of the offshore wind market and how it operates. You will also have the chance to build applied analytical skills, improve your writing skills and develop a greater understanding of the level of quality needed to make your own research work saleable.

This internship is based in Lowestoft, Suffolk

This is a paid Internship. Pay will be based on the age of the successful applicant: either £6.95 per hour for 18-24 year olds or £7.20 (increasing to £7.50 per hour from 01 April 2017) for 25+ year olds, paid monthly in arrears (subject to tax and NI)

Reasonable travel expenses will be paid

Duration: 12 weeks / 37.5 hours per week

Closing Date: 03 March 2017

Interview Date: 9 or 10 March 2017

Start Date: As soon as possible following interview
