Geologist/Geoscientist

We are seeking an experienced Geologist with broadly based geology experience in the offshore energy sector. The candidate should have a proven track record in Cable route and/or pipeline route engineering, familiarity of installation methods and technologies,  and has worked in a senior project management or project advisor role.  

4C Offshore Ltd has an impressive portfolio of prestigious submarine cable projects in the UK and internationally. Our consultants and geoscientists make an important contribution to our projects and are the lead geotechnical discipline when there are particularly challenging geological conditions and geohazards. We need to increase our resources to meet the growing demands from our clients in the energy sector, which includes carbon capture & storage, renewable energy (wind, current and hydro-power), and offshore grid and power interconnection.

We are looking to grow our team and looking for people with the drive and enthusiasm to embrace the future. We have offices in the East of England however the role can be based at client project offices in the UK, France and Germany.

Requirements

The successful applicant will be a Geologist with a proven technical and project management track record. Candidates will be commercially aware to assist us to expand our geotechnical capability in the renewable and offshore power sectors.

Minimum 5+ years seismic or geophysical survey industry experience

Experience of acquisition, processing and interpretation of analogue geophysical data

Experience of acquisition, processing and/or interpretation of 2DHR seismic data

Ability to work as part of a team to tight deadlines

Candidates should have:

A proven track record. A strong academic background with a relevant degree (ideally MSc or equivalent) with good interpersonal and technical skills and the ability to advise our clients during their investigation, design and installation phases of their projects.

The nature of the work requires excellent report writing skills with the ability to self-check and produce accurate work and a willingness to travel on assignments both within the UK and overseas.  Due to the location of our client sites, candidates would require full passport valid throughout the EU and a valid driving licence.
