4C Offshore has a proven track record in supporting Owners to help ensure best practice and best solutions are found, and in supporting Installation contractors to find solutions to problem encountered and develop appropriate risk mitigation strategies.
4C Offshore has been privileged to be part of the majority of the recent UK Power Interconnector projects, involved in CCS Pipeline routing and Offshore windfarm routing and EIA’s and has been further involved in the planning many of the Interconnectors still to be realised around the world.
Provided various levels of support including developing a Burial plan using 4C Offshore in house systems, verify data, provide reports, Review CPT's, evaluate potential suppliers, tender preparation, provided the HSEQ Management, Client Survey reps; Marine Consultancy for Survey ITT scope, prepare, select ITT suppliers, evaluate tenders, recommend award; Survey Data GIS Analysis and route modelling; Cable Burial Assessment; Review survey data and trenching performance data with regards unforeseen ground conditions;
HVDC Interconnector Phase 1 Scotland – England/Wales
Working alongside Aecom who acted as Owner Engineers we provided all the submarine route engineering development expertise. This included General Support; Route development works – preparations for further survey works; Isle of Man crossing preliminary feasibility study; Cable heating considerations; Crossing agreements; HAZID prep & documents; Identification and further analysis of fisheries issues; Stakeholder negotiations
HVDC Interconnector Cable Phase 2
Working with Red Penguin, 4C Personnel are responsible for advising on all Geophysical and Geotechnical matters, project management, route engineering, cable burial/protection, offshore and fishery liaison, consents, permits and crossing agreements. We review proposed
marine surveys, campaign plans and method statements for marine related activities and provide updates and feedback to Western HVDC Link project, as appropriate, in particular relation to:
a)Marine geophysical/geotechnical survey proposals & results
b) Marine UXO survey proposals & results
c) Marine benthic surveys, & location of third part assets
East West Interconnector Ireland - Wales
We established a Burial Protection Index and developed a Report of recently buried cable; 4C also provided Data processing services and GIS/CAD support to the Cable installation team working for ABB
IFA 2 France - UK
Working with RSK, 4C Offshore is acting as Marine consultant supporting several project management roles including survey analysis for areas of mobile sediments, areas of engineering difficulty, areas of intense seabed use; develop routine maintenance inspection programme; Survey Project Manager for all investigations to be performed (geophysical survey, geotechnical survey, thermal conductivity investigation, etc…); laboratory tests; and more…
Rampion Offshore windfarm
Provide Hydrodynamic Regime and Physical Environment for EIA Project
Kingsnorth CCS Pipeline EIA
Working with RSK 4C Offshore provided the Information on the physical setting of the pipeline route, both collated and synthesized in order to both describe its environmental setting, and consider potential impacts; incl. Baseline data gathering, assess sensitivities, Geophysical Report review, Review of Geotechnical Report, Review project description; Review with EON and finalise.
