Wind farm installations present particular challenges due to the innovative approaches involved and the speedy growth of the industry. Challenges may include planning permissions and permitting, environmental considerations, installation considerations and financial risks.
Subsea cable installation and wind turbine piling present particular challenges in terms of the sediment, substrate and geotechnical conditions along the cable route and wind farm location.
4C Offshore will investigate and identify the risks associated with these projects. In particular 4C are experts at quickly analysing risk by location, and have produced a series of risk maps for the following contexts:
- Export cable installation, operating/maintenance and repair
- Infield cable installation, operating/maintenance and repair
- Turbine installation, operating/maintenance and repair
These contexts are considered in terms of Environmental, Geophysical/Hydrographic, Human and Legal risks. The specific export cable landing and turbine risks are also incorporated.
