Weeks ahead of schedule, the first can for the Burbo Bank Extension project is done. In total, 144 cans will be rolled at Offshore Structures (Britain)’s site by the Teesside River in the UK.

The total number of transition pieces being fabricated at OSB is 16 and the total number of transition pieces for the project is 32.

The remaining 16 transition pieces will be fabricated by Bladt Industries in Aalborg, Denmark and the 32 monopiles will be fabricated by EEW SPC in Rostock, Germany.

The ongoing project is the Burbo Bank extension offshore wind farm with DONG Energy as the owner of the site and the end-client.

The Burbo Bank Extension offshore wind farm was awarded an agreement for lease by The Crown Estate on 11 May 2010. This will extend the existing Burbo Bank offshore wind farm by a further 258 MW (approximately).
