Able Seaton Port (ASP) is located on the East Coast of the UK, on the River Tees. The port offers 51 ha (126 acres) with over 791m of quay access and the largest Dry Dock in Europe, (20 football pitches / 100 olympic swimming pools). The port has handled numerous major projects including the recycling of the French "Le Clemenceau" Aircraft Carrier and four vessels from the US MARAD fleet. ENSCO, Petrofac and Transocean use this facility for maintenance and upgrades of their vessels. The port features specialist quays with significant load capacity. Quays 10/11 (306m) have 38 tonnne/m2 load capacity with patch load capacity of 60 tonne/m2 on 25m of quay. The Port is over 2km away from residential areas and has no operational restrictions. Ideally located for North Sea wind farm zones. An easily accessible workforce with the relevant skills is available within the local catchment area.
ASP can facilitate the following jobs: Heavy lift vessels - repair / maintenance and upgrades, Construction and Maintenance of Super Lift Vessels, Commercial Ship Repair, Gravity Based Foundations for Offshore Wind (construction and recycling), Oil and Gas rigs (construction and fabrication), Ship Recycling (two aircraft carriers can be done simultaneously) and decommissioning of offshore oil and gas infrastructure.
