The Cape Wind Offshore wind farm project located in the US has taken a small fall back as a deal with Northeast Utilities and National Grid has said to have been 'terminated'. According to the Northeast and National Grid,  Cape Wind has missed deadlines which were set on 31st December to attain financing and begin construction on the 101 - 130 turbines.

In a recent tweet sent out by Cape wind they have said:

"We do not regards these PPA terminations as valid, due to the Force Majeure provision of the contracts that extends the milestone."

Northeast Utilities had agreed to buy 27.5% of the power from Cape Wind, National Grid had agreed to purchase 50% of the power output. 77.5% has been agreed to be purchased and after the termination of this agreement the future for Cape Wind is in jeopardy.

The 468MW project is due to be commissioned in 2016 and the PPA was settled on 26th November 2014
