In recent months, global shipping expert
dap UK Ltd, has seen a massive increase in the number of contracts awarded
to the group that are directly related to the oil, gas and renewable energy
industries - an increase that has kept pace with its growing reputation
for outstanding service in these highly specialised sectors.
These contracts, although varied in terms
of their requirements, all demand expert handling. Take for instance
a recent 800 teu contract to handle the transport of perimeter security
fencing, outbuildings and overland pipework to oil producers in both Algeria
and Iraq – a contract awarded to dap as a direct result of the faultless
transportation of 185 teu of equipment to Kazakhstan.
Other contracts awarded include the shipment
of 280 teu to the United Arab Emirates and ten out of gauge shipments overland
to Denmark for one of the offshore oil drilling rigs.
During the construction phase for the
Dudgeon
Offshore Wind Farm, which
is due to commence in 2016, it will be critical that equipment is shipped
to the site safely and on time. With expertise in this specialised and
time critical sector, as well as in oil and gas, dap is well qualified
to assist.
Commenting on the opportunities that
will be available, Willem Scheyde, Head of Group development from
dap UK’s Great Yarmouth office, said: “We have a great deal of relevant
experience, so the opportunities that lie ahead of us will really play
to our strengths. We are confident that we could add real value to
the process, as the project will rely heavily on the reliable, cost
effective and secure transportation of a wide range of goods, which is
what we excel at.”
