Doedijns provides Bilfinger with Hydraulic Pile Gripper Frame

Doedijns supplied the complete Hydraulic System for a Pile Gripper Frame to Bilfinger Marine & Offshore Systems.

The system has been installed and commissioned and is currently being used by Bilfinger to to install a total of 72 Wind Turbine foundations for the Sandbank Offshore Wind Farm in the German North Sea. This makes the total amount of installed Wind turbine foundations with the help of a Doedijns system close to 400 foundations.

The foundations are transported to Esbjerg on Bilfinger’s own barges and picked up again by the installation vessel Pacific Orca. The vessel then transports the foundations, consisting of monopiles and transition pieces, to the construction site. Blue Water’s stevedore department in Esbjerg is responsible for the loading operations for the Pacific Orca.

The scope of supply for Doedijns consisted of a containerised Hydraulic Power Unit, control manifolds, complete e-control incl. a Remote Control and touchscreen, Piping and Tubing, Sensors, Flushing of the system, Cylinders (up to 450 mm bore), Hydro motors with Planetary gearboxes, 2 x 20t winches and the complete commissioning and installation of the system.

The Sandbank Wind Farm is located 90 kilometers west of the island Sylt and is the second large offshore wind farm project undertaken by Vattenfall in collaboration with Stadtwerke München. When it is completed in 2017, the wind farm will be able to supply more than 400,000 households with green electricity.
