E.ON orders JFMS management system

James Fisher Marine Services (JFMS), part of globally operating James Fisher and Sons plc, has been commissioned to supply E.ON with offshore wind management system (OWMS).

E.ON will utilise the system to manage marine coordination for all operations and maintenance activities at both the Humber Gateway and the Rampion offshore wind farms.

JFMS stated that its OWMS will help orchestrate all offshore operations through a single interface; from personnel tracking to vessel coordination. The system will be used over a 36-month period on the E.ON operated offshore wind farms to document offshore personnel, site vessels, weather and all day-to-day activities.

Martin Sisley, managing director of services at JFMS, commented: “We’re delighted that E.ON has selected OWMS. We know first-hand the benefits this system can bring to offshore wind farms, and we can’t wait to see it happen at Humber Gateway and the Rampion."

The 400MW Rampion is located approximately 13km off the Sussex coast and is anticipated to begin full operation in 2018. Once commissioned, the project is expected to provide enough electricity to supply the equivalent of around 300,000 homes.

Humber Gateway is located in the UK North Sea, approximately 8km off the coast of the East Yorkshire. The project consists of 73 MHI Vestas V112-3.0MW turbines and has a maximum output of 219MW. It commenced full commercial operations in 2015.
