EDF EN France subsidiary Parc Eolien Offshore De Provence Grand Large has invited tenders for geotechnical investigations at its Provence Grand Large floating offshore wind farm.

The twelve month contract includes offshore geotechnical investigation, focusing on suction anchor geotechnical design, which will consist of geotechnical samplings (drop/gravity piston cores), offshore in situ testings (piezo cone penetration tests PCPT) and associated services including laboratory testing, reports.

The tender is open to interested parties until 3PM CET Tuesday 14th March.

The Provence Grand Large floating offshore wind farm is a 24MW project which is located off the southern French coast in the Mediterranean sea. It is expected to feature three Siemens turbines, each with an 8MW capacity, mounted on floating tension leg platforms which are to be designed by SBM Offshore in collaboration with IFP Energies Nouvelles.

The project was given build approval by the French Environment and Energy Management Agency in November 2016 and is expected to be operational by 2020.
