Eneco offshore wind farms help reduce co2 in the port of IJmuiden

Based on a conglomerate of global fishing companies Cornelis Vrolijk, Parlevliet & Van der Plas and port authority Zeehaven IJmuiden NV have designed a unique onshore power supply system for large vessels. This system is part of the sustainability goals of the fishing companies and the port authority.

During it’s stay at the quay, a vessel can shut down the engines and use power from Eneco Wind farms. These wind farms, Luchterduinen and Prinses Amalia, are situated just off the coast of IJmuiden and were constructed from IJmuiden and are maintained by MHI Vestas out of IJmuiden.
