MPI Offshore's jack-up installation vessel MPI Enterprise has installed the first of 54 Senvion 6.2M126 wind turbines at the Nordsee One offshore wind farm in the German North Sea.

The work is expected to be completed by June in time for commissioning by the end of 2017.

The Nordsee One project is located in German territorial waters in the North Sea. The installation of monopiles was completed by GeoSea in April 2016 following fabrication by Ambau. Each monopile weighs approximately 900t and installation was by the installed jack-up vessel DP2 Innovation in water depths ranging between 25-29m.

When commissioned, the Nordsee One project will provide power to more than 400,000 households. Located approximately 40 km north of Juist Island, the wind farm covers an area of about 41kmĀ²  and is expected to be operational in late 2017. It is owned by Northland Power Inc. (85%) and RWE International SE (15%).
