Fish place Navitus Bay Wind park consent at risk

The Planning Inspectorate has requested the Navitus Bay wind farm developer, Navitus Bay Development Ltd (Eneco Wind UK Ltd and EDF Energy 50/50 joint venture) to agree to the piling restrictions included in the draft Draft Consent Order in respect of Atlantic Salmon.

If the developer cant agree they are requested to provide reasoning before 5th March 2015.

Furthermore they have been asked to agree a plan that shows no adverse effects on integrity on the adult Atlantic salmon feature of the River Avon Special Area of Conservation (SAC) and River Itchen SAC  with Natural England and the Environment Agency.
 
The Inspectorate appreciates that Navitus Bay Dev Co. considers that its proposed piling restrictions are sufficient the Examining Autjority and the Secretary of State might reach a different view. Navitus Bay have been asked to justify alternatives and Imperative Reasons of Overriding Public Interest (IROPI) regarding the adult Atlantic salmon.
