Hitachi plans for new project in Japan

A 200MW project of the coast of Japan consisting of 40 turbines is being planned by Hitachi, the output is expected to be around 200,000 kilowatts and the project is expected to cost around 1,000 billion yen.

The project will be built 2km from the city Murakami in northern Nigggata Prefecture with a water depth of 35m, the city announced a policy last year which was used to attract developers such as Hitachi. Now chosen, studies regarding feasibility and profitability will be carried out.

The power generated will be sold to a Japanese power supplier Tohoku Electric Power. The project is expected to start in 2020, once built the project will be one of the biggest in Japan.
  • Ltd. U-enti Japan will be dealing with the business development and operations for the project
  • Sumitomo Electrical Industries Ltd will be dealing with the examinations of the substation equipment, power transmission cables and deployment.
  • Hitachi Capital Corp will be handling finance
  • Mitsubishi Corp will be dealing business development
  • Ltd. Daishi Bank will be studying finance for the project
  • TOA Construction Corp and Ltd. Honmagumi will both be studying construction work
  • Bank of Tokyo will also be carrying out a study on the finance
