BorWin3 Converter

BorWin3 is a 160km long and a 900MW powerful high voltage DC connection. The underground cable is 30km and undersea cable 130km. The grid connection point is the Demden East converter station. The onshore grid connection point is expected to be at Emden/East, Lowe Saxony. Global Tech I will be installed when the converter is complete. Cable Comments: The land cable is a 320-kilovolt high-voltage direct current cable with a diameter of around twelve centimeters. It weighs 15.5 kilograms per meter. Due to the weight, approximately 1,150 meter long cable sections were connected with sleeves. With its copper core, the submarine cable even weighs over 40 kilograms per meter.
