DolWin3 Converter

DolWin3 is a 162km long and a 900MW powerful high voltage DC connection. The underground cable is 79km and undersea cable 83km. The grid connection point is the Dorpen West converter station. TenneT will still build and operate DolWin 3. According to the April 2014 draft of the Offshore Network Development Plan, when Borkum Riffgrund I connects to DolWin3 the project will have a transmission capacity of 291MW available, despite the capacity of the wind farm being 312MW. DolWin3 will get an additional 250m cable connecting it to the DolWin1 platform by mid-2017. The cable will be attached to each platform by a steel bridge about 30m in length.
