Kentish
Flats, located off the coast
of Kent, is undergoing an extension.
The nacelles and blades scheduled to
be fitted end of June/July.
The nacelles were inspected at their
production site in Ringköbing, Denmark.
The
first tower is being housed in Esbjerg whilst the blades are being manufactured
in Lauchhammer, Germany.
Vattenfall are also preparing themselves
for the installation of the array and export cables on the 49.5MW extension.
Cables will commence load out onto the vessels in Nordenham in Germany
on 1 May 2015.
The vessels 'BoDo Installer' owned by
Bohlen & Doyen will be working with 'Nostag 10', who is owned by Nostag
GmbH. These vessels will be transporting the cables, 8.5km out to Kentish
Flats Extension where they will begin to lay the cable immediately.
The manufacturing of the cables was carried
out ahead of schedule.
Kentish Flats extension will be an additional
15 turbines added on to the already fully commissioned Kentish Flats, which
consists of 30 turbines. Once the extension is complete, the wind farm
will be able to generate 139.5MW of power.
