Nass & Wind and OFS team up to conquer concrete

Nass & Wind Industrie and Offshore Foundation and Industry Solutions (OFS) have signed a cooperation agreement to develop concrete floating offshore wind platforms.

Initiated early 2015, this partnership allows the two companies share ideas and jointly develop offshore concrete structures.

A expertise to the project promoters This cooperation agreement is part of the Nass & Wind Industry strategies and OFS offer High expertise of engineering services for project developers wishing to carry out concrete structures for floating wind.

Nass & Wind said the partnership extends across the entire development, from its concept to commissioning. The partnership aims to develop a floating wind turbine system on concrete float, featuring an anchorage system and the integration of wind turbines .Nass & Wind also stated that the designs must be cost effective in terms of maintenance, meeting energy cost objectives and be allow for the integration of multi-megawatt high power turbines.

Floating offshore wind concepts have the potential to open up new deeper water deployments in the future, giving access to sites which were previously deemed unsuitable for the deployment of fixed foundation turbines.
