Neptune heads for Kent

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERAThe tower, blades and nacelles were loaded onto the 'Neptune' over the past weekend. The components departed Monday and are scheduled to arrive today at the Kentish Flats Extension for installation to commence.

The loading of the components took place at MHI Vestas factory in Esbjerg ahead of schedule. The components will be transported directly to the Kentish Flats Extension development and are scheduled to arrive 17 June 2015. Installation of the tower, blade and nacelles should commence shortly after arrival.

The transportation of the next set of components from Esbjerg will be transported in the same manner. Each load will include 3 individual components to be loaded on the vessel for transportation and installation to the development.


The BoDo Installer, the vessel that previously laid the pre-lay rock mattress will return to carry out foreshore work in Hampton on the 19 June 2015. In order to install the export cable the Installer will beach the foreshore.  

A beach master has been employed to oversee the process to ensure the safety of the general public.
