Njord OffshoreNjord Offshore's latest Crew Transfer Vessel (CTV), Njord Zenith, has undergone sea trials. The aluminium catamaran is the first of two new Z-bow design vessels and is due for delivery to Europe in April 2018.

The new design saw an increase in the foredeck size, increased cargo capacity, increased bunker capacity, and increased the Master’s field of vision with floor to ceiling windows on the Master’s bridge. The vessel keeps the Quad IPS set up for 4 individual drive lines for increased redundancy and bollard push and the BMT Dynamic Fender system for reduced impact loading on boat landings.

She will go on charter on Borkum Riffgrund 2 to support construction work. The wind farm is owned by Ørsted and Global Infrastructure Partners and is located next to Borkum Riffgrund 1. The project will feature 56 MHI Vestas V164-8.0 MW turbines covering an area of 36km2. Installation works are scheduled to commence in the first half of 2018 with full commissioning expected by the end of 2019.
