Offshore construction begins at Burbo Extension

Last week, Engie Fabricom and Iemnants completed the load out of the 1180t offshore substation topside and associated 985t jacket foundation. Both structures will head to the site for installation by the Stanislav Yudin this month.

A total of 32 MHI Vestas 8MW turbines will be installed at the Burbo Bank extension site, significantly boosting the capacity of the existing 90MW Burbo Bank project in Liverpool Bay. The extension project will cover an area of 40km² and will be the first large-scale wind farm to deploy the new MHI Vestas 8.0 MW turbine.
