Using nowcasts of wind speed at hub height supplied by MeteoGroup it is possible to calculate theoretical energy production at the UK's offshore wind projects. The theoretical production figures below assume all turbines are installed and operating efficiently.
Currently (16 May 2013 09:00) the average load factor is 3.2% for the projects shown below. With a total nameplate capacity of 3579.2 MW, power output when these projects are complete would be 86.9 MW. Current output for fully commissioned projects is 86.9 MW, a load factor of 3.3%.
