Rentel NVThe first nacelles for the Siemens Gamesa SWT-7.0-154 turbines to be installed at the Rentel offshore wind farm have arrived at the REBO site at the Port of Ostend, Belgium.

The nacelles measure 22m in length, 6.5m in height and weigh in the region of 400 tonnes. They were manufactured by Siemens Gamesa at its facility in Cuxhaven, Germany.

The pre-assembly of the turbines is underway and includes joining the three tower sections of each turbine to one complete tower. This will be completed using a special 8-pack tower stand which has been built on the load-out quay of the REBO site.
The installation of the 42 wind turbines is scheduled to start early May 2018.

An operations and maintenance centre is also in the process of being constructed in the
Port of Ostende for the Rentel project.

The wind farm is located approximately 40km north of Oostende, and will have an installed capacity of 309MW. It is anticipated to be fully operational by the end of 2018.
