Seaproof selected for Norther CPS

Seaproof Solutions has been awarded a contract by Van Oord Dredging and Marine Contractors B.V for the supply of Cable Protection Systems (CPS) for the Norther offshore wind farm.

The contract scope covers the design and supply of 89 cable protection systems for the inner array grid and the export cables

Norther will be constructed 23km from the Belgian port of Zeebrugge and successfully achieved financial close on 15th December 2016. It is poised to be Belgium's largest offshore wind farm

Van Oord is the main contractor for engineering, procurement, supply and installation of the foundations, the offshore substation as well as inner-array and export cables.

The project is the third wind project off the Belgian coast to be supported under the European Fund for Strategic Investments (EFSI). It will feature 44 MHI Vestas V164-8.0 turbines and will have a maximum capacity of 369.6MW. Once complete it is expected to generate enough energy to supply nearly 400,000 households.
