SMC provides Marine coordination at Butendiek

UK Based Specialist Marine Consultants (SMC) have been working with Siemens providing the marine coordination for the 80 turbined site.

Bent Berg Petersen is the Site Manager at Butendiek for Siemens Wind Power. He said:
“I had the pleasure of working with SMC on previous projects in the UK, with great success. Together, the way we handle maritime topics, incidents and daily operations is a big help for Siemens. We can rely on the CTV's being utilized in the most efficient way, managed and monitored closely by SMC. SMC take care of a number of ad-hoc tasks which pop up regularly, such as audits, MOB drills, reporting in the case of vessel incidents, fuel monitoring and reporting – all done in a very professional way. These tasks can be very time-consuming for site management, so in using SMC in this way, it allows us to focus on the client and commissioning process. After my very positive experience in the UK, we are happy to welcome SMC on the Butendiek project”

This will not be the first time SMC has worked on German waters, back on July 4th 2014 SMC provided the marine coordination for Siemens on the German wind farm Baltic 2.
