Marubeni will be building two offshore wind farms in the waters of Noshiro port and  Akita Port. Between the two projects there will roughly be 46 turbines implemented, this has not yet been finalised

Noshiro Port is expected to produce 74MW and Akita port is expected to produce 71MW, during the acceptance period for the wind farms there were just two applicants, Marubeni won based on reliability, valid business plan/management plan and suitable port functions. The projects will have a combined capacity of 145MW.

Other companies such as Obayashi,  E co-Power co, Akita Bank and Hokuto Bank will have involvement and will work alongside Marubeni.

Taking place this year are tasks such as signing a memorandum of understanding, start surveying and planning power generation.
