Svanen

Heavy Maintenance and Construction

4C Offshore | Svanen
Heavy Lift Vessel (HLV) Svanen was developed specifically for offshore installation projects involving large and heavy structures. It has installed over 1,100 components, foundations, pier shafts and girders.

The vessel operates by lifting and installing structures within the vessel’s centre of gravity, it has a 'U' shaped hull configuration gap width ~23 m). This design allows for installation work to proceed even under harsh offshore conditions with no need for ballasting. This is an advantage over traditional floating sheerleg cranes since it results in much longer operational weather windows.

The vessel has been identified for upgrading by Van Oord so that it can install 2,000 ton monopiles. Work is to be confirmed.
