Vineyard Wind has appointed Nathaniel Mayo to serve as Manager of Policy and Development. In this role, Mayo will lead community engagement on Cape Cod and the South Coast.

Mayo will oversee outreach efforts to local residents, businesses, and other stakeholders. His role will also see him coordinating community events, including Open Houses, while serving as liaison to the fishing community in Yarmouth and Barnstable.
Vineyard Wind stated that Mayo has extensive experience in public policy and community engagement on Cape Cod and that he also brings deep knowledge of environmental, energy and fisheries issues to his work with Vineyard Wind.

Vineyard Wind LLC is an offshore wind development company aiming to build the first large-scale offshore wind energy project in the US, 14 miles south of Martha’s Vineyard.  Vineyard Wind, based in New Bedford, Massachusetts, is 50% owned by Copenhagen Infrastructure Partners (CIP) and 50% by Avangrid Renewables.
Vineyard Wind LLC is one of three companies that has acquired lease rights to build wind projects off the coast of Massachusetts.
Last summer, Massachusetts announced a Bill requiring utilities to procure 1.6GW of clean, offshore wind energy within the next decade. The 1.6GW will generate enough clean energy to power the equivalent of more than 750,000 Massachusetts homes every year.
