Energy sector companies in Norfolk and Suffolk are being invited to meet with companies from Atlantic Canada to explore new trade and bilateral collaboration opportunities within the clean energy sector.

A virtual trade mission led by the Newfoundland & Labrador Environmental Industry Association (NEIA) and facilitated by international trade development consultancy, Kinetic Cubed, will culminate with a roundtable meeting with the East of England Energy Zone (EEEZ), Norfolk & Suffolk Unlimited and the East of England Energy Group (EEEGR) on Friday 27 November starting at 1300 GMT, during the final day of UK Wind Week.

Canadian visitors will learn about the significant inward investment opportunities in Norfolk and Suffolk arising from an offshore wind project pipeline of 8.5GW planned over the next 10 years. Organisations including OrbisEnergy, 4C Offshore, ABP Port of Lowestoft and Peel Ports, Great Yarmouth and East Suffolk Council will set out their ambitious plans to accommodate the growth in offshore wind and 8 Canadian companies will reciprocate with short ‘elevator pitches’ showcasing their specific areas of potential collaboration with the regions energy supply chain. There will also be an opportunity for attending companies from Norfolk and Suffolk to present their own capabilities and how they can work with their Canadian counterparts.

The NEIA represents over 200 firms from Atlantic Canada developing and applying clean technologies and environmental services. The group are also interested in sharing the latest energy related developments in Canada and North East US, an area undergoing a boom in offshore wind developments.

Registrations for the roundtable can be booked by joining EEEGR’s free to attend online event Celebrating Offshore Wind in the East at https://www.eeegr.com/events/offshore-wind-week-2020-east-anglia-event/ For further information email info@theenergyzone.co.uk
