Chinese SOV on five-day sea trials

Vessels

SOV Xiong Cheng Tianwei 1 has undergone sea trials in China. The 50m vessel was designed by FKAB Shanghai. It has a Direct Current electric propulsion system and a class 2 dynamic positioning system. A Walk 2 Work system with six-degrees of movement is installed on the aft deck. During trials, which were overseen by representatives from the China Classification Society, the vessel’s durability, side thrusts and steering were tested over a five-day period.
