Orient Cable scores Vietnam nearshore contract

Orient Cable has secured a contract to provide a subsea cable system for Binh Dai offshore wind project in Vietnam.

Its contract covers the supply and installation of 185km 35kV cross-linked polyethylene subsea cable. The delivery date is planned to be in Q1 2021.

The Binh Dai project is located in Binh Dai District, Thua Duc Commune. It is close to the mainland with only 7km, so all subsea cables will be connected directly from the wind farm to the onshore substation without the need for an export cable. The three Binh Dai phases have a total capacity of 310 MW, and will feature 74 wind turbine generators from Siemens and Goldwind.
