Red Rock scores crane order for Alfa Lift

Red Rock Marine AS has signed a contract for delivery of a 30 t compact telescopic offshore crane for the OHT offshore wind foundation installation vessel, Alfa Lift. The vessel is currently being built at the China Merchant Heavy Industry shipyard in China.

The 30 t compact telescopic offshore crane will assist Alfa Lift's main crane during monopile installation. The crane is scheduled to be delivered to a European yard within Q1 2022.

"The new crane order for offshore wind shows that Red Rock is a trusted partner for mission critical equipment. Red Rock is also delivering Offshore Cranes to the next new build at China Merchant Heavy Industry, the “Les Alizés”, commented Thomas Holte, Chief Commercial Officer, Red Rock.

Scheduled for delivery in 2021, Alfa Liftwill be the world’s largest custom-built offshore wind foundation installation vessel, equipped with a 3,000 t main crane. The ship’s 10,000 m² ‘smart’ deck will carry up to 14 XL monopiles per voyage and will also be fully submersible to a depth of 14.66m. Alfa Lift,of Ulstein design, is on schedule for delivery at the end of this year or early 2022.
