Trianel Windkraftwerk Borkum GmbH and Co. KG (TWB) has issued a tender notice for a framework agreement covering the replacement of defective inner-array cables between wind turbine generators and the offshore substation.

The tender scope covers the replacement of defective inner-array cables between wind turbine generators and the offshore substation including the provision of any required vessels, equipment, personnel and project execution documentation. Furthermore, the contract will cover any port-related cable handling activities, cable testing and termination works, as well as the provision of spare parts as per request by TWB.

The tender covers a period of between 5 and 10 years. TWB state that a decision on the duration of the contract is taken during the award procedure before querying final offer. The window for application closes at 12:00 local time on 24 January 2020.


Trianel Windpark Borkum I is located in the southern part of German Bight approximately 45 km off the island of Borkum. The project consists of 40 turbines which have a combined capacity of 200 MW and were installed on tripod foundations in waters depths between 25 and 35 metres. It has been in operation since summer 2015, and is capable of supplying about 200,000 households with electricity each year.
