ABS collaborates with Taiwanese R&D companies

ABSG Consulting Inc. (ABS Consulting), a subsidiary of ABS Group, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to collaborate with a consortium of research, testing and certification bodies in Taiwan to advance technical knowledge and offshore wind capabilities.

The MOU was signed by a third party certification team organised by Taiwan's Bureau of Standards, Metrology and Inspection, which includes: CR Classification Society, Ship and Ocean Industries R&D Center, Metal Industries R&D Center in Kaohsiung, Taiwan, Electronics Testing Center Taiwan, Taiwan Electric Research and Testing Center, and Taiwan Institute of Economic Research.

This collaboration with Taiwanese stakeholders aims to promote the exchange of technical information in the areas of offshore wind inspection and verification, safety and risk management and certification, as well as technology innovation.

"As a trusted technical advisor and independent verifier, ABS Consulting is committed to providing guidance for promoting the safety and reliability of renewable operations in Taiwan as the country expands its wind farm capacity," says Todd W. "Through this MoU, we will collaborate with Taiwan’s major research facilities to foster industry knowledge and share our lessons learned from developing some of the world's largest offshore wind farms."
