Acta Centaurus chartered for Blauwind

Acta Marine and MHI Vestas Offshore Wind (MHI Vestas) have signed the charter party for deployment of the Acta Centaurus on the Borssele 3&4 (Blauwind) offshore wind project.

The vessel will assist MHI Vestas with the commissioning of the 77
V164-9.5MW turbines it is supplying for the project. The vessel will be on site from Q2-2020 till Q4-2020 / Q1-2021 and operate out of Flushing, The Netherlands.

The
Borssele 3&4 offshore wind farm is being built 22 kilometres off the coast of the Province of Zeeland, and will be one of the largest Dutch offshore wind farms. Van Oord is performing Balance of Plant activities, consisting of the engineering, supply and construction of the foundations and connecting cables. Borssele 3&4, also known as Blauwwind, is a 731.5MW development that will consist of 77 MHI Vestas V164-9.5MW turbines. Commercial production is expected in early 2021.

The project is backed by a consortium including Partners Group (45%), Shell (20%), DGE (15%), Eneco Group (10%), and Van Oord (10%). Van Oord is responsible for the Balance of Plant for the project, covering of the engineering, procurement, and construction of the foundations and inter array cables.
