Reach Subsea has been awarded a contract for its vessel Deep Cygnus to work on an, as yet undisclosed, offshore project. The contract is for five months plus options. The contract will take the vessel through the 2023 spring and summer seasons prior to the vessel undergoing drydocking for maintenance, and for the installation of batteries to enable it to reduce fuel consumption during offshore operations.

Reach Subsea reached agreement with Volstad Maritime AS last July to charter Deep Cygnus on a four-year charter with a one-year option. Reach mobilised the vessel in March 2023 before going to Hornsea Project Two to support maintenance work in April.

Deep Cygnus is a 122m loa multi-role vessel which had an Ampelman W2W installed last September. It was built at the Fosen yard in 2009. Previously, it was used to support cable installation work but now is used to support construction and heavy maintenance on offshore wind project.
