State Power Investment Corporation Limited (SPIC), one of the five major electricity generation companies in Mainland China, has received approval from the Jiangsu Provincial Development and Reform Commission for three of its offshore wind farm projects.

The three projects are
Binhai South H3, Rudong H4 and Rudong H7 and combined represent 1100MW of offshore wind energy.

Both
Rudong H4 and Rudong H7 will have a capacity of 400MW with Binhai South H3 having a capacity of 300MW. With approval in place, construction of the three projects in the East China Sea could begin later this year.

This follows
news earlier this week that offshore construction has started at the CGN Pingtan Island offshore wind farm location off the coast of Fujian, China.
