Atos to supply communications solutions for Ørsted in the U.S.

Atos has been selected by Ørsted to implement mission-critical communications solutions for its offshore wind developments in the United States. Atos is already supporting the offshore developer in the APAC region and in Europe.

As part of this contract, Atos will be responsible for the whole critical communications value chain, from engineering and design to installation, testing and commissioning, and 5 years of maintenance support. The solution will include:
  • Professional Mobile Radio system,
  • Marine and aviation communication system,
  • Marine and aviation tracking system,
  • Microwave links,
  • Network management,
  • Voice dispatching system.

Both companies have signed an exclusive agreement which covers current and future Ørsted offshore wind farms projects in the US region.

Ørsted is one of the world's biggest operators of offshore wind farms and aims to have installed a total offshore wind capacity of 15 GW worldwide by 2025.
In the U.S., Ørsted has been awarded the rights to build offshore wind farms to serve the markets of Maryland, New Jersey, Rhode Island, New York, and Connecticut. These wind farms will have a total capacity of approximately 2.9 GW, with commissioning to begin by 2024.
