Beatrice jackets reach 75 percent completion

The Beatrice offshore wind farm nears the foundation finish line with the successful installation of 66 of the 86 jackets. This is more than 75%.

This has been achieved days after the EC1 and the OTM1 were energised, and one month before the turbine installation is due to take place.

Located in the Moray Firth, the Beatrice project will be Scotland’s largest offshore wind farm, comprising of 84 Siemens Gamesa SWT-7.0-154 turbines. The 588MW capacity array is expected to be capable of generating enough electricity to power approximately 450,000 homes. First power is currently scheduled for July 2018 with commissioning expected to follow in 2019.
