Beatrice jackets up to a total 56

BOWL announced that out of the total 86 turbine and OTM jackets, 56 of them have now been installed at the Beatrice offshore wind farm.

Alongside the jacket installations, work on the second OTM installation took place earlier this month, using the heavy lift vessel, Oleg Strashnov, according to the latest notice of operations.

Located in the Moray Firth, the Beatrice project will be Scotland’s largest offshore wind farm, comprising of 84 Siemens Gamesa SWT-7.0-154 turbines. The 588MW capacity array is expected to be capable of generating enough electricity to power approximately 450,000 homes. First power is currently scheduled for July 2018 with commissioning expected to follow in 2019.
