BOA OCV scores French wind farm contract with DEME Offshore

BOA OCV have been awarded a new contract with DEME Offshore for the subsea construction vessel BOA Sub C. The vessel will be deployed at the Saint-Nazaire offshore wind farm in France with commencement in Q2 2021 for a period of 220 days firm plus options.

BOA Sub C is a multi purpose subsea construction vessel with cable lay capability. It has two ROV hangers with two work class ROVs and an Ampelmann walk to work system installed.

The 480 MW
Saint-Nazaire offshore wind farm, owned by EDF Renewables and Enbridge, will be located between 12 km and 20 km off the coast of the Guerande peninsula in western France. Water depths for the installation range between 12 and 25 metres. It will consist of 80 GE Haliade 150-6MW wind turbines and is poised to be the first commercial scale project installed in French waters. The wind farm is expected to generate enough electricity to supply 20% of the Loire-Atlantique department‘s power.

Since June 2020, BOA Sub C has been providing walk-to-work and accommodation, grouting and ROV inspections support services for DEME Offsore at the Moray East offshore wind farm off the coast of Scotland.
