Royal Boskalis Westminster N.V. (Boskalis) has announced that it has signed a 'sizable' contract for the replacement and repair of a part of the inter-array cables at an undisclosed offshore wind farm. The contract carries a value of approximately EUR 80 million, according to the marine construction company.

Boskalis stated that it will utilise three anchored barge spreads, including the  Bokabarge 82, as well as  BoDo Constructor which the company recently acquired from Bohlen Doyen accompanied by a variety of support vessels.

Last month, Boskalis signed an exclusive Pre-Construction Agreement (PCA) for the
Inch Cape offshore wind farm project. The award was made by project developers Inch Cape Offshore Limited (ICOL), a subsidiary of Red Rock Power Ltd.

The project scope includes transportation and installation of the wind turbine foundations, the offshore substation and cables. The contract size, excluding procurement, is expected to exceed EUR 200 million. Boskalis will in the coming months assist with the further engineering and design of the project.
