Cabling continues for Beatrice

Seaway OffshoreThe Cable Laying Vessel, Siem Aimery, is currently back in Hartlepool loading out cables in preparation for its third journey to the Beatrice offshore wind farm. The vessel was expected to return to the wind farm around the 15th of July but is currently mid-journey to the array.

As well as this, the Walk-to-Work vessel
Stril Server, with the help of the CTV (crew transfer vessel) Marieco Mariah , is currently conducting cable commissioning works on foundations in preparation for the installation for the turbines.

The CLV
Siem Aimery, boasts a length of just under 100m, and a breadth of 21m. Built in Norway, the same flag it sails under, by the Ulstein Group it was delivered on the 26th April 2016. The carousel that rests on deck has a capacity of 4250 tonnes.

The
Beatrice project will be Scotland’s largest offshore wind farm, comprising of 84 Siemens Gamesa SWT-7.0-154 turbines. The 588MW capacity array had its first turbine installed on the 14th of July by the Pacific Orca. First power is currently scheduled for July 2018 with commissioning expected to follow in 2019.
