Cathie hires new US Engineering Manager

Offshore geoscience and geotechnical engineering consultancy, Cathie, has appointed Dr. Diane Baxter as US Engineering Manager.

Dr. Baxter joins Cathie as their new US Engineering Manager. Based in Rhode Island, Baxter will play role in growing both their US team and business. Within the role, she will be responsible for project delivery and building client relationships as well as business development and driving new initiatives in the US market.

After completing her Ph.D. in Civil Engineering from Virginia Tech in 2000, she has spent the last 20 years of her career at GZA GeoEnvironmental (GZA). In her most recent role as Associate Principal, she worked on numerous geotechnical and marine projects, including several of the US windfarms currently in development.

Throughout her time at GZA she provided foundation recommendations, geotechnical site investigations, slope stability analysis and liquefaction analysis. She has also spent 6 months as a consultant at the Norwegian Geotechnical Institute working on suction caisson research.

My involvement in the US offshore wind market started with Cape Wind and the Block Island Wind Farm over 10 years ago. I’ve been watching the market develop in the US since that time, and to be able to now focus my career on offshore wind is a dream come true.”
