The 700 MW COBRAcable is down today (25 September 2020). The reason of the failure is still unknown and investigations are underway. A capacity curtailment due to force majeure was reported earlier today.

Previously, the COBRAcable experienced a power outage on 11 and 12 August 2020.  This was due to a problem with a converter station. The issue was resolved within 48 hours.

COBRAcable is a significant interconnector between the Netherlands and Denmark. The 325km HVDC cable was established in collaboration with the Dutch TSO TenneT and the Danish TSO Energinet. The cable was fully commissioned in Q3 2019.
