Dura Vermeer and Aannemingsmaatschappij Friso (part of Friso Bouwgroep) are progressing with the construction of a new cable factory for BV Twentsche Kabelfabriek (TKF) in Beatrixhaven, Eemshaven

With this factory, TKF is focusing specifically on the production of inter-array subsea cables for offshore wind farms. The factory is designed to have a considerably higher production capacity than the existing facility in Lochem and to make use of the heavy loading quay in the Beatrixhaven. It is expected to produce 1200km of cable annually.

The construction is being carried out by the construction consortium Dura Vermeer Bouw Hengelo, Dura Vermeer Infra Oost and Aannemingsmaatschappij Friso. All groundworks have been completed and steel construction is to get underway shortly.

Dura Vermeer and Aannemingsmaatschappij Friso expect to deliver the site at the end of 2023, after which TKF will start the first production.

Koert Terhürne, chairman of the board at Dura Vermeer: “We have a lot of experience with large-scale utility projects such as this one, which is why this unique assignment is perfect for us. A great collaboration with our sister company Dura Vermeer Infra Oost and cooperation partner Aannemingsmaatschappij Friso.”
