Construction under way at China's largest offshore wind farm

Offshore construction has begun at China’s largest windfarm, Yangjiang Nanpeng Island, with the first turbine pile being installed on the morning of the 15^th of October.
Yangjiang Nanpeng Island is located approximately 20 km offshore of Yangdong District, Guangdong, in water depths of 22-31m. The site covers 83km², and when completed will have a capacity of 400 MW.Grid connection of the first batch of turbines is expected by the end of December, with full connection by June 2020; once commissioned it will be capable of producing 14,560 Gwh of electricity annually. The project is owned and being developed by China Guangdong Nuclear Power Group (CGN).
The vessel Yu Hang Qizhong 3000t has been in on the wind farm site since the 24^th of September and is equipped with a 17,000t and 660t crane, so assumed to be contracted for installation of components.
On the 11^th of October a tender was announced for supply and transport of 70 turbine towers (including anti corrosion measures). The contract for supplying turbines was awarded to MingYang earlier this year, and they are joined by Jiangsu Hengton, who will supply the array cables. CCCC Harbour engineering will install foundations for the substation and turbines.
