Consultations scheduled for Eastern Green Link 2 subsea cable project

Scottish Hydro Electric Transmission (SHE Transmission) and National Grid Energy Transmission (NGET) have scheduled Pre-Application Consultation (PAC) events in advance of applications for for Marine Licences to Marine Scotland for the Eastern Green Link 2 subsea cable project.

The project proposal includes approximately 440km of subsea High Voltage Direct Current (HVDC) cables, fibre optic cable and associated cable protection from Mean High Water Springs at Sandford Bay, Peterhead. Scotland to Fraisthorpe Sands, England. These events will focus on the elements of the project which are located in Scottish waters.

SHE Transmission extended the invitation to local members of the community and all interested parties to attend an exhibition to discuss its plans with the project team.

A face to face public exhibition will take place on Wednesday 6th April 2022 at Peterhead Football Club (Blue Toon Suite) between 2pm-7pm. This is an open door drop in session open to all members of the public and interested parties. A further two online consultation events will take place on Thursday 7th April between 1pm-3pm & 5-7pm.

According to the project partners, the online virtual consultation events have been designed to be fully interactive, allowing for presentation of key project information and plans, as well as providing an opportunity to ask questions about the project. Visitors will be able to engage directly with the project team via an instant message function, where they can ask any questions they might have about the project and share their feedback on the current proposals.
