The Correll Group, Electrical Engineering Division (CEE), announced that it has been awarded a contract from Prysmian Group to complete the 66kV inter-array cable (IAC) termination & testing on Saint-Brieuc offshore wind farm.

Correll will deliver works on both the Wind Turbine Generators and Offshore Substation. The project will be split into two campaigns, with the first campaign starting imminently.

Sam Dowey, Managing Director at Correll, commented; “Award of this contract further develops our long term relationship with the Prysmian Group, one of the worlds most experienced offshore renewable cable manufacturers”.

The 496 MW Saint-Brieuc wind farm, 16 km off the French coast, will feature 62 Siemens Gamesa SG 8.0-167 DD turbines, standing at 207 metres high. Covering an area of 75 km2, the project will be the first large-scale offshore wind farm in Brittany. When operational, it will be capable of generating 1,820 GWh/year of electricity, expected to meet the demands of  835,000 people. It will be the Iberdrola group's first large offshore wind farm in France, and the company's fourth of this technology in operation. Its construction represents an overall investment of close to €2.5 billion.

Ailes Marines, a 100% subsidiary of Iberdrola,
confirmed yesterday (26 January 2023) that the commissioning of the Saint-Brieuc offshore wind farm is on track for December 2023.
